Follow the steps to make the focaccia dough and let it raise for the first time for one hour, then punch the dough, and let it raise for the second time for about 30 minutes, this will add more flavor to the dough.

2 How To Shape The Focaccia

Cut the dough on two portions, one bigger than the other.

This time I used the cast-iron pan to make the pizza, and parchment paper.

Put some drops of olive oil in the cast-iron pan and place a parchment paper over the oil, this will keep the parchment paper from moving while you work with the foaccia dough.

Put one tablespoon of olive oil over the parchment paper and use a kitchen small brush to brush the oil on the paper, put the facaccia dough on the paper and with your two hands, punch gently on the dough to make it big as the cast-iron pan.

Cover the iron-cast pan with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough to proof for 30 minutes.

  1. I love a thicker pizza dough and the picture here is really making my mouth water. I also love caramelized onions, so I really want to give that version a try. I actually wonder if I could add the caramelized onions to the pizza dough instead of putting them on top of the cheese and pepperoni slices.

  3. I would never have thought to make a pizza with focaccia bread, but it seems totally doable and also very tasty! I have made regular pizza myself before, but never with this bread. Would you happen to have a link to making the focaccia dough yourself or do you buy it in a supermarket or bakkery? Thanks!

From one pizza lover to another, let me just start off by saying that I love a good quality pizza!  While I am certainly not the type to make my own pizza at home (I may have to try this recipe however), this seems like an easy recipe for those such as myself who do not have any home made pizza experience.
